For further information, please refer to the article Changing the order of elements. How to determine the delivery costs You can determine the delivery costs that your customers have to pay for the different delivery methods. However, you do not have to reflect the delivery costs you are invoiced by the delivery agents. Consider carefully whether you want the actual costs precisely represented in the delivery cost or whether it might be better to find an average cost. The latter tends to be better understood and is more convenient for customers. You should also consider other cost factors in the delivery costs, such as packaging material. Select type You make the most important decision in terms of delivery costs when you create a delivery method and select its type. The type determines how the delivery costs are calculated. It can not be changed later on. If you would like to select a different type, you'll need to add another delivery method. Type Description Free delivery Orders are free of delivery costs. Fixed price Delivery costs are set at a fixed price. Free delivery from set price Free delivery on orders above a specified value. Basket total Delivery costs depend on the order value. Weight of products in the basket Delivery costs depend on the weight of the products ordered. Number of products in the shopping basket Delivery costs depend on the number of products ordered. Determine delivery costs Once you have created a delivery method and chosen its type, you can determine the delivery costs for this method. Please note the steps below may differ for some logistics providers. An exception is the type Free delivery. As this type is always free of charge, you cannot make any further settings. In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Settings → Delivery. Select the delivery method you would like to edit. Open the Settings tab. Depending on the type, follow the steps in the following table: Type Steps Fixed price Enter the delivery costs. Select the Tax class for this delivery method (if applicable). Select Save. Basket total Select the Tax class for this delivery method (if applicable). Determine under Basket total refers to whether the order value should include only products or should also include coupons. Use the table below to determine the shipping costs for the different values: In the line £0.00, enter the Multiplier and the Base price. The multiplier determines the variable amount of the delivery price and the base price determines the fixed amount that always remains the same and is not related to the basket price. If you don't want to add a multiplier and/or base price, enter 0.The delivery costs are then calculated according to the following formula: Delivery costs = basket price * multiplier + base price Info Example: You enter a multiplier of 0.5 and a base price of £3 for the order value range of £0 to £20. If a customer places an order with an order value of £5, they must pay £5.50 delivery costs.Delivery costs = 5 * 0.5 + 3 = 5.5 Select Save.A new line has been added at the bottom of the table. Enter the next limit (e.g. £20) in the column Basket total starting at. In the same line enter a Multiplier and a Base price. These values then apply from the specified limit to unlimited. Select Save. If you want to enter other order values and associated delivery costs, repeat steps 9 to 11. Weight of products in the basket If orders are meant to have free delivery above a certain value, enter the corresponding value in the field Free delivery from. Select the Tax class for this delivery method (if applicable). Select the weight unit in the drop-down menu at the top of the table. Use the table to determine the shipping costs for the different values: For the range 0 to unlimited, enter the Multiplier and the Base price. The multiplier determines the variable amount of the delivery price and the basic price determines the fixed amount that always remains the same and is not related to the product weights in the basket. The delivery costs are then calculated according to the following formula: Delivery costs = weight x multiplier + base price Info Example: You enter a multiplier of £2 per kg and a base price of £5 for the weight range of 0 to 5 kg. If a customer places an order with a weight of 3 kg, they must pay £11 delivery costs.Delivery costs = 3 * 2 + 5 = 11 Select Save.A new line has been added at the bottom of the table. If you want to enter other weight specifications and associated delivery costs, repeat steps 10 to 12. If you want to define a maximum weight for this delivery method, enter it in the field Maximum weight and select Save. If an order exceeds the maximum permitted weight, this delivery method will not be displayed to the customer in the order process. Caution Please note that you should enter the delivery weight for each product that you offer a delivery method of this type for. If a customer places a product in the shopping basket for which you have not entered a weight, the delivery costs do not increase. If the customer only places products without any weight indication in the shopping basket, the delivery costs incurred will be the base price for the smallest unit of weight without additional surcharges. Number of products in the basket If orders should have free delivery above a certain value, enter the corresponding value in the field Free delivery from. Select the Tax class for this delivery method (if applicable). Use the table to determine the delivery costs for the different values: For the range 0 to unlimited, enter the Multiplier and the Base price. The multiplier determines the variable amount of the delivery price and the base price determines the fixed amount that always remains the same and is not related to the number of products in the basket. The delivery costs are then calculated according to the following formula: Delivery costs = product quantity x multiplier + base price Info Example: You enter a multiplier of £2 per product and a base price of £5. If a customer places an order for 3 products, they must pay £11 delivery costs.Delivery costs = 3 * 2 + 5 = 11 Select Save.A new line has been added at the bottom of the table. Enter the next limit (e.g. 5 pieces) in the column Product quantity starting at. In the same line, enter a Multiplier and a Base price. These values then apply from the specified limit to unlimited. Select Save. If you want to enter other order values and associated delivery costs, repeat steps 9 to 11. How to make a delivery method only available for certain products By default, your customers can choose any kind of delivery method for each order. But you can define whether or not each delivery method is available for all products. Restrict availability for all products In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Settings → Delivery.
