Crop an image

In the administration area of your shop under Editor, you can easily add images to your shop using various content elements. Once you have added an image, you can use the cropping tool to adjust the size of the image or change the part of the image that is shown. For these changes you don't need any additional software like Photoshop or Gimp.

You can also crop product images this way. For further information, refer to Add and set up products.

How to crop an image

  1. In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Editor.
  2. You can see a list of your pages in the sidebar of your Editor under Pages. Select the page that you would like to edit. A preview of the page is shown on the right-hand side.
  3. Select the image you would like to crop or hover over it with your mouse and select 5e3c0e871b064.png.
Note that this option is not available for all image elements.
The Edit image format view appears.
  4. The highlighted area with the blue border shows the part of the image that will be shown in your shop if you select Save. You can now use the following options to adjust your image:
    Option Description
Change the part of the image that is shown To do this, you can either drag the highlighted area to another position or use the arrow buttons on the right-hand side to move the image to the desired position. By using the arrow buttons, you can precisely position the highlighted area.
Resize the area that should be shown To change the size of the area, simply drag the blue border of the selected area.
Change the aspect ratio Select one of the buttons below the image, for example 1:1 or 2:3, to change the aspect ratio of the image.
Zoom in or out You can use the magnifying glass buttons on the right-hand side to zoom in or out of the image. This way you can, for example, focus on a specific section of the image.
Custom width or height This is an option for more experienced users. You can enter your own width and height for the image. To do this, select Custom below the image. By selecting the lock symbol, you can specify whether the current ratio of the image should be retained or not. Enter the desired dimensions in pixels under Width and Height.
  5. Select Save.
If you present several images next to each other (for example with the content element Image, two columns), make sure that all images have the same aspect ratio so that they are optimally displayed in your shop.
