You can sell your products on eBay. For you as a merchant, eBay is a very good opportunity to acquire new customers and benefit from the fact that this website has millions of visitors each month. Before setting up eBay for your shop, you must first set up a seller account at eBay.
To sell via eBay, your provider needs to have eBay platforms activated for your shop. If this is not the case, you will see a note about this in the administration area under Marketing eBay. If this is the case, please contact your provider to get more information.
How to set up selling on eBay
1. In your shop’s administration area in the main menu select Marketing and then eBay.
2. Select eBay accounts.
3. Select + Add to connect an eBay account with your shop.
4. You might need to select a sales platform - for instance United Kingdom for the UK platform of eBay.
5. Select Add.
6. Follow the instructions in the administration area.
7. When you are done with the setup, select Default values.
8. On this page you can define default settings for eBay - for instance if items should be sold to the highest bidder or if they should have a fixed price. First take care of the General settings and then of the other ones below. Always save the changes.
9. Select Items.
10. On this page you can select which products you want to sell on eBay by selecting + Assign products.
Renewing the authentification
If you have already set up eBay in your shop you may have to renew the authentification of the eBay connection first.
1. In your shop’s administration area in the main menu select Marketing and then eBay.
2. In the yellow box at the top select Renew.
3. Select Renew connection.
4. You are forwarded to the eBay website. Sign in there with your eBay credentials.
5. You are redirected to the administration area of your shop. You will see a success message at the top.
Assigning products to the eBay catalogue
You can link the products you are selling to already existing products at eBay. Then it is possible to take over existing product images and descriptions from eBay.
1. In your shop’s administration area in the main menu select Marketing and then eBay.
2. Select + Assign products.
3. In the left column of the table select the products you want to sell on eBay.
4. Select Apply.
5. Now you have to assign products to eBay categories. Select a product from the table.
6. Select Categories.
7. Under 1. Category select Select category.
8. Select a category for the product. If you already know the category number of the category enter it under Select by category number.
9. Select Apply.
10. If you want to you can also select a 2nd category. Then repeat the steps 7-9.
11. Select Save.
12. Select Assignment.
13 . Under Search EAN at eBay you can enter an EAN number and search for it.
14. You then can see a list of products from which you can choose. Select a product.
15. You have several additional options on this page:
- Save EAN with the product: If you select this option the EAN number is saved with the product.
- Use images from eBay catalog instead of own product images: If you select this option eBay will use images from the eBay catalogue for this product instead of the images you uploaded for it in the administration area of your shop.
- Add product description in addition to the eBay catalog description: eBay already has product descriptions available for many products. Select this option if you would like to have your own product description displayed additionally to the one provided by eBay. This is then displayed below the standard product description.
16. Select Assign.
17. Select Transfer to eBay.
18. Select Upload to eBay.
The product now has been uploaded to eBay. If you would like to have a look at the listing on eBay select the eBay item number that is displayed to you.
