Edit legal pages

It is mandatory to include legal pages to meet legal requirements. On them you can provide your visitors with important information on topics such as data protection or the right of withdrawal. By default, all legal pages are displayed in the footer menu.

If you want to learn more about the required content of the different legal pages, refer to the article Learn more about legal pages.

These are the legal pages of your shop:

  • Legal notice
  • Privacy policy
  • Cookie policy
  • Payment & delivery
  • Terms & conditions
  • Right of withdrawal

How to edit your legal pages

  1. In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Editor.
  2. You can now see a list of your legal pages in the sidebar of your Editor under Legal pages. Select the page that you would like to edit. A preview of the page is shown on the right-hand side.
  3. Edit the content of the text element according to your needs. To do so, you can make use of the formatting options that are available for texts. However, you cannot add new content elements (e.g. text, image, video) to this page, but only modify the existing text element.

Caution

Note that it is not possible to change the page name for legal pages.

How to edit the visibility of your legal pages in the footer menu

By default, all legal pages are displayed in the footer menu. It is not possible to move a legal page to the main menu of your shop. If you would like to not display a legal page in the footer menu, you can hide the page.

But keep in mind that your legal notice should be accessible from every page of your shop via a link, as this information is mandatory in many countries. Thus, displaying it in the footer is a good solution to fulfill this requirement. For more information regarding the footer, refer to the article Learn about footer pages and your footer menu.

This is how you edit the visibility in the footer menu:

  1. In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Editor.
  2. You can now see a list of your legal pages in the sidebar of your Editor under Legal pages.
  3. Select EditIcon.png next to the legal page for which you want to edit the visibility.
  4. Under Visibility in shop, specify whether the page should be visible or not.

    Caution

Note that hidden pages can still be accessed directly via their URL. If you hide this page, remember to delete the corresponding links in the custom texts that are displayed to your customers during checkout. You can do that in the Checkout settings.
  5. Select Save.
