Update from the Base to Now version: Checking product descriptions

This article is exclusively for retailers who have been offered a switch to the Now version from the Base version in the administration area of your shop.

General information about product descriptions

You can enter a product description for each product in your shop. It will then be shown on the corresponding product page.

To edit the description of a product, go to the main menu in the administration area, select Products, then View products, and then select the product's item number in the table. You can then edit the product description under Description.

Transferring product descriptions when updating from Base to Now

When updating from Base to Now, all product descriptions from your shop will be transferred.

However, note the following:

• In the Now version, there are no longer any tables in product descriptions. When updating from Base to Now, tables will not be transferred. Hence, you should update all product descriptions in your Now shop that previously contained tables.
• In the Now version, there are no longer any apps in product descriptions (e.g. content slider or social bookmarks). These will not be transferred when you update from Base to Now.
• The Base version allowed you to show product descriptions on index cards. This option is no longer available in the Now version. All product description texts will therefore be displayed directly on the page.
• Product descriptions can no longer be edited as source code in the Now version.

Checking product descriptions

Due to the differences in the versions described above, you should check the product descriptions of your products in the Now shop to ensure that they are displayed correctly.
