Learn about footer pages and your footer menu

You can customize your shop footer in many ways. Besides linking your social media profiles in the footer and adding logos of shipping and payment methods available during the checkout process, you can also show legal and content pages in a footer menu. In this article, you'll learn how to add these footer pages, set their visibility, and determine their order.

Where to find your footer pages

The Content pages section in the sidebar of your Editor includes two kinds of content pages: The ones included in your main menu at the top of your shop and the ones included in the footer menu. The pages of the main menu are displayed above the dashed line and the ones of your footer menu are displayed below that line. Furthermore, all legal pages are included in your footer menu.

How to add a page to the footer menu

By default, all legal pages are included in the footer menu. It is not possible to move a legal page to the main menu of your shop. If you would not like to show a legal page in the footer menu, you can hide the page. For content pages, it's up to you to decide if you would like to add the respective page to the main menu or to the footer menu. The required steps depend on whether you would like to determine the page location on page creation or after page creation.

On page creation

Here's how to determine the page location on page creation:

  1. In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Editor.
  2. In the sidebar of the Editor, select Add page.
  3. In the field Page name, enter the name for the new footer page.
  4. Under Page location, select Footer menu.
  5. Select Save.

The page has been added to your footer menu. You can now find it in the Content pages section of the Editor's sidebar.

After page creation

Here's how to determine the page location after page creation:

  1. In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Editor. You will then see a list of your content pages in the sidebar of the Editor under Pages → Content Pages.
  2. Select EditIcon.png next to the page you would like to make a footer page.
  3. Select Footer menu under Page location.
  4. Select Save.

The page has been made a footer page.

How to set a footer page's visibility

You can determine whether or not a footer page is shown in the footer menu. But please note that hidden footer pages can still be directly accessed by using the page URL. Furthermore, some legal pages should be made available via a link from each page of your shop. Thus, displaying them in the footer is a good solution to fulfil this requirement.
Here's how to set the visibility:

  1. In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Editor.
  2. Select BottomBarIcon.png in the bottom bar.
  3. Select the tab FooterMenuIcon.png.
  4. Select EyeOpenIcon.png next to the page you would like to hide from the footer menu. The icon will then be replaced by the following one: EyeClosedIcon.png. You can select EyeClosedIcon.png at any time to show the page in the footer menu again.
  5. Select Save.

You've determined the visibility of your footer page.

How to determine the order of the content pages in the footer menu

The order of your legal pages in the footer menu is set and cannot be changed. Furthermore, the legal pages are always displayed at the very beginning. Afterwards, the content pages included in your footer menu are displayed. You can determine the order of these content pages. Here's how:

  1. In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Editor.
  2. Select BottomBarIcon.png in the bottom bar.
  3. Select the tab FooterMenuIcon.png.
  4. Select MoveIcon.png next to the content page you would like to move.
  5. Drag and drop the content page to your desired position. Keep in mind that it is not possible to drop the content page before or between the legal pages.
  6. Select Save.

You've determined the order of the content pages in your footer menu.
