Help centre Products Product handling Add manufacturer information Information on the manufacturer provides your customers with useful additional details about the product they are looking at. Providing this information helps to build trust and increases transparency. Besides adding manufacturer information, you can also provide information on product safety. Both pieces of information are displayed in expandable sections on the product pages in your shop. This article describes how to add manufacturers and assign your products to them. For further information regarding product safety information, refer to Add product safety information. If your location is in the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) or you sell your products to the EU/EEA, it is required to include manufacturer and product safety information for most non-food products and for all sales channels.The reason for this is the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), which applies from 13 December 2024. For further information, refer to the website of the European Commission and/or contact a legal advisor. How to create a manufacturer Caution If you have previously entered manufacturers manually in the Manufacturer field in the product settings, these are automatically added as entries under Manage manufacturers. The products for which a manufacturer has been entered will also be automatically assigned to it. However, you still need to fill in all the required information for these manufacturers. In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Products → Manage manufacturers. Select + Add. Enter the information of the manufacturer: Option Description Manufacturer name Enter the name of the manufacturer. Email address / link to contact form You will need to provide your customers with a communication channel through which they can contact the manufacturer. To do so, you can either enter an e-mail address or a link to a contact form of the manufacturer. Phone Enter the phone number of the manufacturer. This information is not required. Address information Enter the address information of the manufacturer. The required fields include the address, meaning the street name and house number, the country, the postcode, and the city. Add responsible economic operator in the EU If you offer goods that are manufactured outside the EU, you will also need to provide the required information about the responsible person or company in the EU. Activate this checkbox if this applies to your products from this manufacturer. This allows you to add another set of contact information for the responsible economic operator in the EU. Select Save. You have created a manufacturer. To display the manufacturer information on the respective product pages, you will need to assign these products to the manufacturer. For further information, refer to the section How to assign products to a manufacturer. How to assign products to a manufacturer Follow the steps below to individually assign products to manufacturers via the product settings pages: In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Products → View products.The table shows an overview of all products in your shop. In the table, select the respective product number. Move to the Additional product information section. Under Manufacturer, use the Name drop-down menu to select a manufacturer. Select Save. You have assigned the respective product to a manufacturer. The manufacturer information will now be displayed on the product page in your shop. Repeat the steps above or use the bulk action under Products → View products to assign multiple products to a manufacturer at the same time. Follow the steps below to assign multiple products to a manufacturer via a bulk action: In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Products → View products.The table shows an overview of all products in your shop. Select the products you want to assign by activating their checkboxes. In the toolbar, select Assign to manufacturer.A new page opens listing all products you have selected. In the Manufacturer drop-down menu, select a manufacturer to which you would like to assign the selected products. Select Assign. You have assigned the respective products to the manufacturer. The manufacturer information will now be displayed on the product pages in your shop. This is where the manufacturer information is displayed in your shop: How to delete manufacturers In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Products → Manage manufacturers. Activate the checkboxes of the manufacturers you want to delete. In the toolbar, select . Confirm your choice by selecting Delete. You have deleted the selected maufacturers. You can no longer assign products to them. All products that where assigned to the deleted manufacturers can now be assigned to a different manufacturer. Until then, no manufacturer information will be displayed on these product pages. Caution If you delete a manufacturer to which products that fall under the requirements of the GPSR were assigned, make sure to reassign these products to another manufacturer.
