Add product safety information

Providing accurate and clear safety information for your products is important to earn the trust of your customers. Depending on your location, this may also be necessary to meet legal requirements.

Besides adding product safety information, you can also provide information about the manufacturer. Both pieces of information are displayed in expandable sections on the product pages in your shop. This article describes how to add safety information to your products. For further information regarding manufacturer information, refer to Add manufacturer information.

This is where the product safety information is displayed in your shop:

Example for the display of product safety information on a product page

If your location is in the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) or you sell your products to the EU/EEA, it is required to include manufacturer and product safety information for most non-food products and for all sales channels.

The reason for this is the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR). For further information, refer to the website of the European Commission and/or contact a legal advisor.

How to add product safety information

To display the information on your product pages, you can choose from various safety symbols and predefined safety statements in addition to providing further safety information via a text field.

An indication of what is required can be found, for example, on the product packaging or in safety documents provided with the product.
