Domains

A domain is the address under which a website can be found – for example www.your-shop.com.

Domains always have a so called top-level domain. In the example above, “.com” is the top-level domain. There are different top-level domains available for your shop.

Connect your shop to a domain

Normally you can register a domain name when you order your shop from your provider. Then the connection between domain and shop should be established automatically.

If your shop and domain are not connected yet, you need to do it yourself. How exactly you can connect your store to a domain depends on the provider you ordered your shop from. Contact the provider's support for advice on this topic.

It is recommended that you use your own domain for your shop. Customers expect this nowadays, it is more trustworthy, and also helpful in terms of search engine optimization.
