Update from the Base to Now version: checking cross-selling links

This article is exclusively for retailers who have been offered a switch to the Now version from the Base version in the administration area of your shop.

General information about cross-selling

Cross-selling is a simple method to increase your sales. When a visitor views a product in your shop, other products you define are displayed below it.

To edit the cross-selling products of a product, go to the main menu in the administration area, select Products, then View products, and then select the corresponding product's item number in the table. Select Cross-selling to apply the settings.

Transferring cross-selling links when updating from Base to Now

When updating from Base to Now, the cross-selling links from your shop will be transferred.

However, note the following:

• In the Base version, there were three different types of cross-selling products: accessories, complementary products and alternative offers. These categories are no longer available in the Now version. Hence, all cross-selling products are displayed on the product pages, regardless of the type of product. This means that there are no longer different headings for cross-selling products, but just one (see below).
• The Now version no longer features automatic cross-selling. Hence, you will always have to maintain the cross-selling products manually.

Checking cross-selling links

To ensure that all cross-selling products are shown as desired, visit your shop's product pages and check how the cross-selling products are displayed there.

Defining the headline for the cross-selling area

1. Select Products and then View products in the main menu of the administration area.
2. In the table, you will see an overview of all products in your online shop. Select any product.
3. Select Cross-selling.
4. Under Advanced options, you can enter a headline for the cross-selling area. The headline will be displayed across all cross-selling areas in the shop.
5. Save your changes.
