Help centre Settings Internationalisation Translate your content Before you can add translations for your content, you must first add a language. For further information, refer to Multilingual shops & translations and Manage languages in your shop.Depending on your shop country, your shop package and its character limit, you can either have your content translated automatically or you will need to translate it manually. Info Your shop automatically recognises the browser language of your customers and displays the shop in the correct language, if available. Customers can also change the language via the footer of your shop. How to add manual translations for your contentDepending on the type of content (products, categories, text on content pages, etc.), you add translations either in the Editor or in your shop administration.Once you have added translations for all of your content, set the language to visible () to make it available to your customers.Make sure to add translations for all relevant texts in every visible language. If you don’t add a translation for a text, the text will be missing in your shop in that language.Content in the Editor In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Editor. In the bottom bar, select .The Select language menu opens. Select the language you want to edit. Select Apply. Add the content for the selected language: When you add a new content page/element in the Editor, it is only added for the currently selected language. To use the page / content element for other languages as well, switch to the respective language and add it again. Category pages are always created for all shop languages. If you add a new category, it is directly available for all added languages. Note that you may need to translate the category name. Legal pages are always available for all shop languages. However, you must edit the content of the legal pages separately for each language. You have added translations for your content in the Editor. Repeat these steps until all languages are translated.Content in your shop administrationTo offer your shop in multiple languages, you will need to add translations not only for content in the Editor, but also for other texts you have added to your shop, e.g. for products (product names, descriptions, keywords, attributes, etc.), categories, product types (names, attributes, values, etc.), coupons, shipping and payment methods, etc.Some texts, such as product or category names, are automatically taken over from the source language, but can be edited individually for each language. System texts and standard texts (e.g. in the main menu or checkout) are automatically provided by the system.This is how it's done: In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to the respective area. In the top bar, select .If this icon is not available, no translations are required for that page. Select the language you want to edit. Add a translation to all relevant text fields. They are labelled with . indicates missing translations. Select Save. You have added translations for the respective content. Continue until you have translated all languages/content.How to have your content translated automatically Availability for your shop Functionality Enable/disable AI translation Availability for your shopAutomatic translations via DeepL are not yet available for all shops. The availability depends on different factors: Shop country:AI translations can currently be enabled for English and German shops. Language:The following languages can be translated automatically: Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swedish. Shop package:Depending on your shop package, you may not be able to use any additional languages, meaning that AI translations will also be unavailable. For further information, contact your shop provider. Character limit:Depending on the size and complexity of your shop, you may have reached the character limit for AI translations in your shop package. To translate additional languages with AI, purchase a subscription for an AI Translations Add-on. You can do this via a booking link, which in this case will be provided in your Internationalisation settings. Info For further information or to check availability of this feature for your shop, contact your shop provider. FunctionalityIf available, translations are created automatically as soon as you add a language or activate AI translation for a language in the Internationalisation settings. From this point on, any changes you make will also be transferred to the automatically translated languages.With AI translations, your shop content from the Editor and your shop administration (e.g. text on content pages, product descriptions or category names) is automatically translated using DeepL's machine translation technology.The names of delivery and payment methods as well as texts under Checkout > Custom texts are not translated automatically but are taken over from the source language. If necessary, you can translate these manually for the relevant languages.System texts and standard texts (e.g. in the main menu or checkout) are always provided automatically by the system.Enable/disable AI translationFor languages that have already been added, you can enable or disable AI translation, depending on the availability of AI translations for your shop.All languages translated with AI are marked with .Languages that have been translated manually are marked with . Caution After enabling AI translation, any existing content for that language is deleted and replaced with automatically generated translations. If you disable AI translations for a language, changes in your shop for this language will no longer be automatically translated/applied. New languages can still be added using AI translation as long as your shop package‘s limit for AI-translated languages has not been reached.This is how it's done: In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Settings → Internationalisation. Activate the checkbox of the language for which you want to change the AI translation. In the toolbar, under AI Translation, select Enable or Disable. You have enabled or disabled AI translation.
