Help centre Marketing Google Upload your products to Google Uploading your products allows you to showcase them to millions of shoppers for free across the Shopping tab on Google. Based on the assigned attributes, your product feed will group your products. Once you've uploaded your products, you can also create your first Performance Max campaign. Before you can upload your products to create your product feed, you'll need to connect a Merchant Center account to your shop. How to upload products to Google Before you upload products to Google, make sure that your shop settings and products meet Google's requirements, as described in the article Meet the requirements to upload products to Google. In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Marketing → Google. Stay on the default tab and open the second page Product feed. Select the desired delivery method in the drop-down menu Delivery method.This delivery method will be displayed for all uploaded products on Google. Caution Be sure that the delivery method you select here is available for all products you want to upload to Google. You can adjust this in your product or delivery settings.Note if you want to change the selected delivery method later, you'll need to unassign all products and upload them again. Select + Assign products.The view Assign products appears. Assign the products you want to upload to Google for your product feed: Upload main products/products without variations: If you only want to upload specific products to Google, activate the checkboxes of those products and select Upload selected products.You can review your assigned products on the tab Selected elements. If you want to assign all products to the product upload, select Upload all products. Caution Note that this will not upload variations! To also upload variations, you will need to assign them manually as described below. Upload variations: Caution It is not sufficient to upload only the main product! All variations of the product that you want to display on Google must also be assigned for the upload.The main product and the variations are linked via the Item group ID [item_group_id] and will be displayed together on Google. For further information, refer to Meet the requirements to upload products to Google. This is how you assign variations on the view Assign products: Select the name of the main product. For products with variations, the product name is a link.A sub-page opens. Activate the respective checkboxes for all variations that you want to upload. If you want to assign variations of other products, select Products in the heading to return to the product overview and repeat steps 1-2. Review the assigned products on the tab Selected elements. Select Upload selected products. You have assigned products to be uploaded to Google. All assigned products are uploaded to Google and are waiting for approval. This can take a few days. Check their status in the table at the bottom of the page. Only products that have been approved and activated by Google will be shown on the Shopping tab on Google. If one or more of your products could not be uploaded to Google because they do not meet the requirements, a warning message with more information will be displayed on top of the page. The affected products will not be displayed in the Google product statuses table. For further information about the different error messages, refer to the section Troubleshooting. After you have solved all issues, you can upload your assigned products again by selecting Repeat upload. How to remove products from Google Info If you want to delete products in your shop that you have previously uploaded to Google, it is advised to unassign them from the Google product feed first. This is how you do it: In the sidebar of the administration, navigate to Marketing → Google. Stay on the default tab and open the second page Product feed.The table at the bottom shows an overview of all uploaded products. Unassign products in order to remove them from your product feed: If you want to unassign specific products, activate the respective checkboxes and select Unassign. If you want to unassign all products, select Unassign all. If you select Unassign all, all products in your Merchant Center account will be removed and will no longer be showcased on Google. This also affects any products in your Merchant Center account that you may have previously added via other integrations. You have unassigned the products from your product feed and they will shortly be removed from your Merchant Center account. How to update uploaded products Of course, you also want to be able to make further changes to already uploaded products. Any changes you make to these products after the first upload will be automatically pushed to your product feed once a day. You can also manually update the uploaded products by selecting Repeat upload. It can take up to 24h until your product updates will be reflected on Google and all products with changed product data may be reviewed by Google again. Google product statuses Symbol Status Description 🟣 Disapproved Your product has not been approved by Google and is not active. There are some common reasons why your products may be disapproved. For further information, refer to the Google Merchant Center Help. 🟡 Pending Your product is pending and is not shown on the Shopping tab because it is currently under review by Google. For further information, refer to the Google Merchant Center Help. 🟢 Active Your product is approved by Google and active. You can now advertise it across Google and include it in a Performance Max campaign. For further information, refer to the Google Merchant Center Help. Troubleshooting In the following section, you will find information on how to solve issues and errors you might face when uploading products to Google. If one of these issues occurs, a warning message with more information will be displayed at the top of the page. It will inform you about the affected products and provide more information about the issue. All products that are displayed in the warning message were not uploaded to Google or were uploaded with changed product data. After you have solved all issues, you'll need to upload your products again by selecting Repeat upload. You can find more information on the following error messages below: Too many characters No description No valid attributes for the required product information (Age_group, Color, Gender, Material, Pattern, Size) Quantity of the reference unit not supported Product not visible No product name No delivery method selected Delivery method not available for the target market No price Tax model does not match the indicated target market Caution There might be other warning messages that are not listed in this article. Also see the information in the warning message and consult the Google Merchant Center Help for further assistance. Further adjustments might need to be made for your products to be showcased on Google. All of your products need to be approved by Google before they will be shown on the Shopping tab. If Google detects one or more issues, you will be informed in the Issues column for each product. For further information, select the respective error message and follow the instructions. Too many characters There is a maximum number of characters that you can use for the product name and the description. The product name can have up to 150 characters, and the product description can even have up to 10,000 characters. Learn more about editing product data in the article Add and set up products. No description Every product you want to advertise on Google needs to have a description. Learn more in the article Add and set up products. No valid attributes for the required product information (Age_group, Color, Gender, Material, Pattern, Size) Some products, especially clothing, require additional information that you can't enter via the normal product settings. Instead, you will need to create corresponding attributes. If you have created the required attributes but the product upload still does not work, make sure that you have used the correct attribute name and spelling. Quantity of the reference unit not supported The quantity of the reference unit differs from the values supported by Google. You need to change the quantity to 1, 10, or 100 in the product settings. For certain units, you can also use different quantities. These are 750 ml, 50 kg and 1000 kg. Learn more about editing product data in the article Add and set up products. Product not visible Every product needs to be visible in the shop to advertise it on Google. Set the product to visible in the product settings. Learn more in the article Add and set up products. No product name Every product you want to advertise on Google needs to have a name. Add a product name in the product settings. No delivery method selected You have not selected a delivery method to be displayed on Google for the products you want to upload. Learn more about selecting a delivery method in the section How to upload products to Google. Delivery method not available for the target market The selected delivery method has not been made available for the region of your target market. You can either select a different delivery method as described in the section How to upload products to Google or change the available regions for the selected delivery method in the delivery method settings. No price Every product you want to advertise on Google needs to have a price. Add a list price in the product settings. Learn more about editing product data in the article Add and set up products. Tax model does not match the indicated target market The currently selected tax model does not correspond to the stated target market. For most target markets, you'll need to enter gross prices, meaning prices including VAT. For further information regarding the correct tax settings for your target market, refer to the Google Merchant Center Help. This means that you may need to change your tax settings accordingly to upload your products to Google. Learn more in the article Tax settings. Info If you only sell to business customers, which means you have a B2B shop, you probably use net prices. But if you want to upload your products to Google, you'll need to change your prices to gross.
