Help centre Get started Update from BASE to NOW Migrating from the shop version Base to the version Now Info This article explains how to manually migrate from the Base version to the Now version. It is not intended for merchants who have been offered the update to the Now version in the administration area of their Base shop. If you have been offered a switch to the Now version, refer to the article Update from the Base to Now version. To see your shop version, select Help from the main menu in the administration area of your shop. At the bottom of the page you will see the version (Base or Now). Do you have an online shop of the Base version and would like to move your shop to the Now version? In this article we will show you how to do this. Design The design of shops has changed fundamentally with the Now version, so that previous designs cannot automatically be transferred from the old to the new shop. The design of the Base version is based on templates, where you can place all elements with pixel precision, and has a dedicated mobile view. The Now version, on the other hand, has a responsive design that automatically adapts to the device being used. The Now version offers you a range of modern design themes from which you can choose a design to suit your shop. More information can be found in the article Using themes / design templates. With the new design themes, you can achieve a similar result as with the Base version, but without the pixel-precise placement of elements. The new themes meet today's web design conventions and user expectations. Therefore, in many cases it makes sense to orientate the shop design to the specifications of the new design themes instead of copying the design of the old shop. If you rebuild your old shop design with the Now version, your new shop will probably not look exactly like the old one due to the changed design structure. The design themes of the version Now will do a lot of the work for you. For example, the display of images on the product detail page, the placement and orientation of items (such as the search and shopping cart), and the display of categories depend on the theme selected. This means that you no longer have to make these settings yourself with version Now. Products You can find instructions for transferring the product data in the article Transferring products from the shop version Base to the version Now. Your shop in search engines The Now version is designed to give merchants a good ranking in search engines. For example, all Now shops have a modern, search engine optimized URL structure. Due to the changed URL structure, your previous Google links are no longer valid - with the exception of the start page. You should use the Google Search Console to notify Google of these changes and initiate a new indexing of your shop. If customers have set bookmarks in their browser to subpages of your shop or there are links from other websites that do not point to the home page, these will no longer work after the migration. You can find more information about search engine optimization in the article SEO: search engine optimisation of your shop. Was this article helpful?
